Today's topic is all about geometer sketchpad. We found that it is really enjoyable and useful to be used in school. It makes geometry lesson easier for people to learn and love it. Besides, it easy to be used once you install it in your pc.Brilliant!!! We wonder where we want to put our geometry set since we have this kind of software????????????? Actually, this is the alternative way for teachers to teach about this topic and at the same time, it is the interesting topic for pupils to learn.

pro & cons....

Assalamualaikum & hai everyone...

Todays lesson makes us realise that mathematics is a very challenging subject..as we all know, still, many people are scared with numbers plus it has been taught in English. It is more than facing a scary monster. Then, government should rethink about teaching Mathematics and science in English. Therefore, it is important to reduce the affective filter among the students and to provide a non-threatening enviroment. When they think Mathematics is a difficult subject to learn, they will hate this subject, maybe forever...

We personally admit that it is hard to learn Mathematics in English. For instance, when mu'min's group presented their work just now, we get confused on how to solve the questions and task given to us. They had to come to us individually in order to make us clear about the task. therefore, it would be difficult for young learners and we do not have a very long time for each period. So, we should think carefully to improvise the materials to suit with our learners, time and setting.

more maths games 4 us...

teaching using calculator..

It was just a good lesson for us this week as we realized how calculator can be effectively integrated in Mathematics lesson. At first we wondered how a calculator can help in making a fun and interesting lesson. It is because it never come across our mind that there are a lot of calculator activities that are fun and interesting. Furthermore, during our time we were forbidden to use calculator in classroom as teacher wanted us to master the computation skill. We will be regarded as lazy students if we were to use calculator. However, in IT era, nothing is impossible. We realized that internet resources do help teachers a lot where teachers can find a lot of interesting yet challenging that could be served as mental activity for pupils. Besides, we found there are many interactive and fun activities using calculator that appeals to children. In fact, pupils can relate what they learn from the activities with something else for instance in their daily life situation. As the future teachers, we think we have to vary teaching methods and approaches so that pupils’ interest will increase. Learning with calculator is one of the methods that can be carried out in the classroom. It is just a ‘tiny little thing’ to bring it to class. So, there will be no problem for pupils to bring it.
